Kauri Computer Company Ltd was established in 1998 by Ian Gilchrist. The shop was built around a simple idea: provide local, useful computer help for Kaipara people without making things harder than they need to be.

After Ian passed away from cancer, his son Luke Gilchrist took over the business and continues to run Kauri Computer from 79 Victoria Street, Dargaville.

The shop still keeps the same practical local focus Ian built it on, while supporting newer devices, modern Windows systems, phones, tablets, Wi-Fi, Starlink and online services.
